Can Intermittent Fasting Exceed Exercise As A Viable Method For Fat Loss

If you use intense exercise for weight loss, you are required to physically exert yourself to burn calories. Using the intermittent method simply requires that you do not eat food for a short period of time. The duration of these fasts usually last around 24 hours and only need to be performed just once or twice a week.

The main advantage to using the intermittent fasting method is that you do not need a gym membership or need to exercise more than you normally do. A major advantage of using the periodic fasting method is that you do not need to exercise very much. Using this method is a huge time saver. Good news for those that don't have a bunch of time to spend in the gym.

It also means that with this method, diet becomes a major determinant in your weight loss progress.

This method requires that you allow the diet to do more than eighty percent of the work. You should never rely on a workout routine exclusively for lasting fat loss. Diet is a major player that controls your hormone levels that effect your weight loss.

Periodic Fasting Versus Intense Exercise

A calorie deficit is essential for fat loss to occur. Now there is a couple of ways that you can create this calorie deficit. It doesn't really matter how it's done as long as you do it. You can do this by diet or exercise alone, or you can combine the two together. Preferably, using a combination of both is the best route. Were going to keep them separate for this discussion however.

Your insulin blood hormone levels will drop when you exercise. You also see that the hormone human growth hormone (HGH), levels increase if you exercise intense. These conditions are needed in order for fat loss to occur.

It has been studied and shown to be true that by fasting for just 24 hours can create the same hormone blood levels that exercise does. By simply fasting once or twice per week for a short period of 24 hours, you can duplicate the affects of exercise.

This is great news for those that don't have the time or don't even like to exercise.

Remember, using intermittent fasting is a great method for losing fat, but I recommend you use them both. Intermittent fasting can work on its own, but you will get much better results by using both methods.
